The ARTS DISCOVERY program introduces groups of vunerable children to cultural activities including museums, concerts and dance performances, and Broadway and off-Broadway theatre. Children are accompanied by our ARTS DISCOVERY DOCENTS (adult volunteers, parents, and social services agency staff.)Following the event, the children and adults enjoy time together, and share their thoughts and ideas on the event they shared.

 

ARTS DISCOVERY introduces children to the power of fine and performing arts and often serves as an entry point for further arts study and involvement.  In 2023 we provided 28 excursions to major NYC cultural institutions and served 285 children. ARTS DISCOVERY outings are made possible by our cultural partners which include: New York Philharmonic, Carnegie Hall, City Center, Broadway Theater League, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim Museum, the Morgan Library, and many others.
